レジ袋はいりません。

In Japan there is a real plastic bag addiction. You get a plastic bag for everything in this country. I've even received a paper bag put into a plastic bag. Sometimes you go into a combini to buy a candy bar and they put that in a plastic bag all by itself. So now they're promoting the My Bag campaign where you carry your own ECO bag into the supermarket and you don't need a plastic bag.

レジ袋(ふくろ)- Plastic bag
は - Subject particle pronounced as 'Wa'
いりません - Don't need; 要る(いる)is the verb for 'need'.
Translation: I don't need a plastic bag.

私(わたし)- I

マイバック- My Bag
を- Particle to link the noun and verb
持参しています(じさんしています)- Bringing; English conjugation would be 'brought'
Translation: I brought My Bag.

環境(かんきょう)- Environment
に - Particle indicating an action towards the noun
やさしく - Gently, Friendly
資源(しげん)- Resources

大切に(たいせつ)- Carefully, Important
Translation: Friendly on the environment to important resources.

If plastic bags could walk and talk I would hope they wouldn't say 'NO!'. They would carry your groceries home and then return to the store to help someone else. Now that's recycling!
